BEAMIT acquires stake in PRES-X, an innovative start-up in AM post processing

BEAMIT SpA, a leading European Additive Manufacturing (AM) service provider, has acquired stake in PRES-X, a company focusing on post-processing of AM-components. PRES-X is an innovative start-up that applies innovation and specific know-how to introduce and industrialize new innovative methods for post processing in Additive Manufacturing, specifically in the field of surface finishing and advanced thermal treatments.

PRES-X is the first European company that has the possibility to perform high pressure heat treatments on AM production parts. Thanks to the partnership with Quintus Technologies, PRES-X has acquired an HIQ60 System, an equipment designed specifically for AM parts. PRES-X is the first company in the world to install an HIQ60 system, with the latest technology. The HIQ60 System , located in Italy, is able to perform heat treatments at high pressure, with specific features for a complete thermal cycle control, allowing to perform Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) and heat treatment at the same time. This service goes alongside the innovative services already provided by PRES-X on surface finish solutions.

BEAMIT SpA is a a leading European Additive Manufacturing service provider based in Italy, with more than 20 years of experience within metal AM. The company is a trusted supplier of advanced metal AM-components to demanding industries like aerospace, automotive, energy and racing – and holds a number of relevant quality certifications, including AS 9100 for aerospace and NADCAP approval. In 2019 Sandvik Additive Manufacturing acquired a significant stake in BEAMIT, to strengthen both companies offering to the AM-market. Sandvik offers the widest range of metal powder on the AM-market – and has leading capabilities across the entire AM-value chain.

Today BEAMIT has one of the largest metal AM production facilities, with more than 30 AM systems installed in the Parma area in Italy. The investment in PRES-X is in line with BEAMIT’s strategic vision to broaden the company’s know-how and special process offering, and further strengthen the position as a leading AM service provider for the most demanding industries.
